Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the technologies that has been increasingly utilized across various industries in recent years, including the construction sector. In this regard, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, a training workshop on AI in the construction industry was held in collaboration with the DigiNoron scientific team and the Business Training Center of the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade (MIMT). The key topics presented during this educational session are outlined below:
Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
AI in the Construction Industry
In this segment, presented by Dr. Mehran Shirzad, the director of DigiNoron, in cooperation with the Business Training Center of the Ministry of Industry, the fundamentals of AI were introduced. Topics covered included concerns about job security and the future of businesses in relation to AI. The section also explored the foundational concepts of AI and the infrastructure required for its implementation.
Applications of AI in the Construction Industry
AI in Interior Design and Construction Automation
The second part of the workshop focused on the applications and tools of AI within the construction industry. Examples were given of how AI can be used for interior design, automating various tasks, real-time control tools on construction sites, and other applications. Practical examples and tools were demonstrated during this segment.
Building AI Models for the Construction Sector
The third section provided insights into the process of building AI models specifically for the construction industry. This included an overview of selecting the appropriate model, data collection, model training, and implementation strategies.
Smart Transformation of Organizations Using AI
In the final section, Dr. Shirzad discussed how to implement AI for smart transformation within organizations. Key topics included identifying relevant processes, applying AI solutions, and enhancing operational efficiency.
At the end of the session, a Q&A was held where construction managers posed questions, and comprehensive responses were provided.
